Cherry Hinton Festival 2009

The Duck Race 5.4.09

The Cherry Hinton Festival Duck Race took place on Sunday 5th April 2009 at Giant's Grave. The weather was perfect and we had great support - we sold all of our race ready ducks this year and the range of decorated ducks was incredible. It was great to see so many people enjoying this lovely part of Cherry Hinton.

 A Huge thank you to all the 300 children and adults who joined us and cheered and quacked on their ducks as they sped. (well drifted across the water) We had 5 races for 180 ducks across a longer course this year and people were able to watch the races on both sides of the bank.  We had an appearance from real ducks but they gave us a wide berth and came back when we had finished.  Winners : 18 Prizes were awarded for the race winners and the best decorated ducks.   

Film Night 22.5.09

The big screen came to Cherry Hinton on 22nd May 2009 - Look out for more productions with the Cherry HInton Film Club at the British Legion in Festival week and for special Christmas screenings.
