The
first Cambridgeshire History Festival descended
on the county on Saturday 19th September 2009, as part of the
Cherry Hinton Festival.
Over
the past three years the history exhibition had grown in size and
drew a huge amount of interest. At the 2009 Cherry Hinton
Festival we were pleased to announce and present the first
ever Cambridgeshire History Fair! It was a fantastic opportunity to promote yourself/your group, network
with other like-minded people & organizations and have a great
day out!
Stalls
for the history fair included a diverse range of related
disciplines. The history fair covered history, archaeology, local
history, archives, family history, architecture, natural
environment, museums, re-enactment and much, much more…..
   
   
  
The Historical
Association is open to anyone with an interest in history. The
Cambridge branch runs speaker meetings, walks, visits and film
evenings, and you have the chance to participate in the national
events too.
This year the
University of Cambridge reaches a special milestone – 800 years
of people, ideas and achievements that continue to transform and

Society exists to encourage the study of family history within the
old counties of Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely. It not only

The Group was
established in November 2007 to create to create a digital archive

The CAMBRIDGE ANTIQUARIAN SOCIETY was founded
in 1840 to provide access for local people to the local history,

The Grade I listed Prebendal Manor House is the
earliest surviving dwelling in Northamptonshire. Alan Titchmarsh
described the gardens as a "stunning example of a recreated
medieval garden". ( Royal Gardeners Pub., BBC, 2003). The
gardens were established to represent both the practical and
decorative features that could be found in a high status garden
between the 13th and 15 th centuries. Our award winning museum was

creation of Super 8 film as a crucial art form in its own right.
As well as the annual festival, the Cambridge Super 8 Group has

Anglia.
Cambridge Super 8 is also committed to promoting new work and
developing critical discussion as well as developing collaboration
with other festivals. Also looking for amateur Super 8 Films shot

The Company of St Jude was formed in 2003 by two gentlemen
belonging to a viking society wishing to move into the medieval
period and become two lone ranger mercs. Initially a group hadn't
been planned, but with no others in the area The Company was
formed and continues to grow. Nowadays the group provides
historical displays in Cambridgeshire on the War of the Roses
period as well as fielding in larger battles as a small
skirmishing unit in black and white tabards.
