The Way To Be Awards were
launched in 2004 to celebrate and reward services and businesses
that do the most for disabled people.
Many local businesses go to
great lengths to cater for disabled customers but there is still a
long way to go before Cambridge is as accessible and welcoming as
we know it could be.
Cambridge City Council
has supported the scheme
since its launch in 2004, and are keen to encourage actions that
benefit Cambridge's disabled citizens and visitors.
This year The Way To Be
Awards will be presented by the mayor of Cambridge at the Cherry
Hinton Festival on 19 September 2009.
The awards are
sponsored by two previously nominated local businesses
- Granta Boat & Punt Company and Lakeland.
